Over 2000 years ago, a pre-teen young boy with a withered hand lived in the city of Nain near Jerusalem. Angry with God because of being born disfigured, he and 2 buddies began drinking and carousing nights at the local bar. One night, after his friends had gone home, the boy took several wine skeins and wanted off into the hills of Galilee. In the middle of the night, he heard voices, peeked over a hill, and beheld Jesus’ transfiguration. He realized he’d been cured. Overjoyed, he ran to Nain to tell his friends, but they didn’t believe him; in fact, they thought he was disobeying Jewish law and being disloyal. Eventually, they stoned him. Jesus, passing by, brought him back from the dead and the boy became his disciple, afterwards to following in Jesus’ footsteps by also becoming a healer.
