EGG ISLAND: Death is Your Choice by Dikkon Eberhart

Former pastor and now fine-arts painter, Percy Black, must link up with his lover, Starr Knitter, a therapist, in order to save young solo sailor, Beth Clipperton, from the thugs who pursue her. The thugs believe she was responsible for the death by drowning of their elder brother way out in the Gulf of Maine, on Egg Island, and they seek revenge. Their pursuit continues while Percy seeks to create agency in his life, seeks thereby to take power from the thugs, and also to persuade Starr to say yes to his marriage proposal. There are several more and more dangerous immediate threats and the novel climaxes with a frightening home invasion powered by guns.
